“Oral herpes is usually caused by HSV-1 and can result in cold sores or fever blisters on or around the mouth. However, most people do not have any symptoms. Most people with oral herpes were infected during childhood or young adulthood from non-sexual contact with saliva,” states the Centers for Disease Control.

Approximately 1 in 6 people in the US contract herpes from age 14 through 49. What? That’s a lot of people. In fact, Johns Hopkins Medical School relates the 90% of US adult have herpes by age 50.

• Sharing beverages
• Sharing lip moisturizers
• Sharing lipstick
• Kissing
• Sharing a straw
• Sharing a vape
• Sharing a cigar
• Sharing a cigarette
• Sharing a rolled marijuana joint

”Look at a person’s lips and if there are one or more red, yellow, fluid-leaking open sores around their lips, don’t share anything with their lips,” says Dr. Joseph Kravitz, DDS, MS, dentist from Maryland.
