It’s about the give. Helping others, help themselves. As Dale Carnegie taught us in best best selling reference book: “How to Win Friends and Influence People”, he states that the best sound to any person’s ears is:
It is very rewarding to help the community.
So many people during my youth have helped me see the magic I had inside me. It wasn’t always easy. A lot of hard work.
I promised myself after I graduated high school, that I would volunteer to help others such as Fire Marshall for Lock Haven University, Captain of the Lock haven University Men’s Track and Field Team, Resident Assistant and Counselor at Lock Haven University, Class Vice President at the first dental school in the world, University of Maryland Dental School, volunteering for visiting victims of domestic abuse at N Street Village Shelter in Washington DC, American Red Cross volunteer at National Naval Medical Center, Chairing various committees at the North Bethesda Rotary Club such as Vocational Service, Community Service and District Grants.
I am grateful for the opportunity to be Game Announcer for Player Introductions at Wootton High School Varsity Basketball Team.
Introducing by elementary school, height, position, number with unbridled enthusiasm, ignites a fire within each player to start the game with more vigor and support from the fans. It’s loud. It’s fun. It’s passion for sport. It’s for love of competition.
Dr. Joseph Kravitz, DDS, MS, dentist from Rockville, Maryland states: “the principles for the Pyramid of Success from Coach John Wooden – industriousness, friendship, loyalty, cooperation and enthusiasm inspire today’s youth to create a better future for our community and society.”
Service is the rent we pay for being on this earth.
Thank you to all of those that serve. Be well.
